Vonoprazan is a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that provides potent, rapid, and sustained suppression of gastric acid secretion. Unlike conventional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), Vonoprazan acts by competitively blocking potassium ions at the gastric H+, K+-ATPase enzyme, leading to more effective and longer-lasting acid suppression.
